CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL WINS OVERALL DISTRICT 21-3A ACADEMIC CHAMPIONSHIP
Central High School (CHS) UIL Academic Coordinator Mr. Chad Nash announced today that the school’s academic team has won the overall team title for the 2022-23 District 21-3A Academic Meet.
This victory, Central High School’s first in recent memory, was clinched on Monday, March 20 but was confirmed after the last district competition was finalized this past Saturday at the end of the Lincoln-Douglas (LD) Debate contest. Central’s final margin of victory grew even larger after the LD Debate team won the event’s team title and 3 CHS debaters medaled.
“We are very proud of the tremendous effort and time put into this year’s competition by our academic teams and coaches. Their dedication to achieving this goal of an overall academic district championship is exactly what our “ALL IN” school motto is all about”, said Central ISD Superintendent of Schools Mr. Justin Risner.
The CHS Academic Team qualified 24 students for the Class 3A Region III Academic Meet on April 22 at Blinn College in Brenham. These students will be competing in 15 different events throughout the day in hopes of qualifying for the Class 3A State Academic Meet on May 17-18 at the University of Texas at Austin.
